Inhalt | "All's Very Well is a story of a mother and daughter, the voyage of the filmmaker and lead character, now residing in Germany, to the places of her childhood in Israel. The journey takes place in the shadow of her mother's memories of the Holocaust, and in the enigmatic silence around them. From the perspective of the years the two women explore their relationship; the mother's pain over her daughter's love for a German man and following him to his land. While the mother is gradually coming to terms with her daughter living in Germany, the daughter, Idit, is further entangled in a trap of remorse and guilt feelings. To top it all off, the past creeps into Idit's peaceful life in a small village near the Black Forest, in the shape of an old and pleasant shepherd, a former S.S. trooper. He asks Idit for forgiveness and, strange as it may be, finds her sympathy. All's Very Well is an exploration of identity and self-determination, an attempt to burry the hatchet, an allegory on the Second Generation that is still fighting the demons of the Holocaust."
