"After a brief survey on the highly mechanised methods of mass production of synthetic rubber, the film depicts the work of the sponsor's research laboratory. A great variety of processes for the testing of new solutions, compounds and synthetic rubber products are described in detail. These tests are often carried out on equipment developed by the laboratory itself and include studies on the effects of temperature, wear and tear, chemicals, weather (light, ozone, humidity), electrical charges, etc. When all tests are successfully passed and it is also determined that the product has no ill effects on human health, the new formula goes on to the pilot plant where mass production is simulated on a small scale."
