| Inhalt | "Short documentary about a 46-year-old woman who works in a fish-and-chips shop with her two daughters. Fish and chips are an essential element of British society. At 11 a.m., the first queues form in front of the countless shops. The food - greasy, pale and cheap, but also banal and funny - shows a typical side of England. The Taste of Life follows three women who run a fish-and-chips shop in te Northern English city of Hull. Their lives seem filled with restrictions. Yet they have come to terms with their fate and try, as one of them says: 'to make the best of a bad job'. The fish and chips shop is their pride and glory.
